Brownie Trifles Recipe


Brownie Trifles:

Fudge Brownies (see recipe below)
Homemade Whipped Cream (see recipe below)
Once cooled, cut the brownies into bite-sized pieces and layer in the bottom of 4oz mason jars. Top with homemade whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

Fudge Brownies

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups bittersweet chocolate chips
1 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour


– Preheat the oven to 350-degrees. Line a 9×9 pan with a piece of parchment paper so that the ends fold over the sides of the pan.

– Spray the parchment paper with cooking spray.

– Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler and stir until smooth.

– Remove from the heat and beat in the sugar, vanilla and salt. Let the mixture rest while you sift the flour.

– Beat the eggs into the chocolate mixture, then stir in the flour.

– Pour the batter out into the prepared pan.

– Bake for 25-30 minutes until a tester comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting.


Homemade Whipped Cream


2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– Place a metal mixing bowl and your beaters in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.

– Remove and add the sugar, vanilla, and cream to the bowl.

– With your mixer on low, beat the cream until it thickens and you have stiff peaks.

– Cream will keep for about 10 hours – you can re-whip during that time if it starts to thin.

    This is an awesome dessert! Great for my everlasting sweet tooth and the kids will love it! I love brownies. I think I would use vanilla ice cream instead of heavy cream. But it looks amazing.

    These sound delicious, love the idea of cream on top. I have never used chocolate chips for brownies I have always used baking cocoa. I am going to have to try these.

    Decadent brownie against the cool, crisp strawberry…winning combination. I’ve always been more a strawberry on top than a cherry. It looks great!
